am from the mylapore constituency and my vote is for Santa, i’ve been canvassing for Lok paritran via email as well as word of mouth, while my friends(students) are ready to encourage them, elders who happened to be educated ones seem to be reluctant, they expect a large scale campaign from these guys. More over they seem to be obsessed with dmk-admk who i feel isnt worth it when Captain and Lok Paritran are contesting in my constituency. if possible try to add in ur blog the personal contact details of the guys contesting

Zakka kinda screwed up there. How cud he not know the name of the party! And, the haughty tone of his remarks about “some ex-IITians….” What was he thinking? If that was an attempt to unsettle him, pathetic is the word. And how does he assume that they were influenced by RDB? Aren’t these guys supposed to have a neutral stance? Headlines today should stop giving these stories to news “readers”. I have my own doubts about party’s awareness campaign. If a Head. Tod. news reader stumbles to say their name, what about the masses?
It is so true that even if you are a well funded NGO, you cannot do much w/o co-op from the government. Looks like it’s not a decision that was taken on one fine sunday morning in an “i’m gonna serve my motherland so lemme pack my bags and go home” fit. It’s a result of a long and hard thought process. Running a company in Silicon valley and thalaimai cheyalagam may not have anything in common, but, I stongly believe they are capable coz they’ll have a more refined, research based approach rather than one based on intuitions,sensationalism,nameology,numerology or astrology.
Vasudevan sounds uber cool. The difference education makes is clearly seen in his interview. They sound honest and pretty much practise what they preach by giving up their six figure salaries by entering politics. They deserve to win. Atleast a couple of seats. Vote for ‘em people!
PS- The tall lanky dood in the bloo shirt is you ainnit?
@Dinesh- sooper appu!

dinesh:
good work mate… will put up manifesto and candidates here tomorrow! watch this space…
bharat:
your point taken about choice of name… guess it will be part of their learning curve…
and yeah, thats me in the blue shirt doing my interview for metro plus when good old Saptarshi gatecrashed…
and zakka did mess it up more than once… you’re absolutely right about the rang de basanti bit… he cant just assume… zakka or whoever wrote that report has resorted to guesswork minus the research… it was saptarshi’s story, i think they shudda let saptarshi give the bytes too… it was shot one week before they telecast it…

Suderman,
Looks like you have been prepped to contest the TN elections someday with that “Cinematic” appeal .. Blue shirt, dog tag (whatever that is around your neck), et al, you looked uber cool..BTW, Is it becos you are friends with Saptarshi, you got so much time on teh video.. Just kidding, mate.
Content wise, I think this porobably one of the sanest Election videos I have seen in a long time..Made much sense and grounded in reality as these contestants spoke of their goals..KUdos to you for making it available on your Blog.. if not for taht, I wouldn;t have known about this at all..
If anything, I recommend them adopting a Nike Style marketing campaign to reachout to the middle class..Ya know, a bit catchy..things like “The Chosen Few (In Nike, its The Chosen One)..Or the “Best Alternatives”.. or probably something that rhymes and can get stuck in people’s mind as they get ready to cast the ballot..
